🎗️ Celebrating Comedy’s Courage 🎗️

Meet Comedy, a brave brindle girl and proud OSA Warrior. Her amputation went remarkably well, thanks to a consult with Dr. Couto and the use of tranexamic acid—a combination her owner hopes every greyhound family considers when facing osteosarcoma for the first time.

Now a tripod, Comedy is thriving—zooming through life like she's always had three legs and melting into the couch with even more elegance.

But her story doesn't stop there. Comedy has made an incredible contribution to the future of greyhound health by participating in both Osteosarcoma research projects supported by the Greyhound Health Initiative:

🔬 She donated a portion of her tumor to the University of Pennsylvania & CHOP research teams, who are working to develop better treatments for OSA in both dogs and humans.
🩸 She also provided a blood sample for the OSA Biomarkers Project led by IDEXX Labs, which aims to detect osteosarcoma in dogs before clinical symptoms appear.

Her owner shares:

"It's awful that so many hounds get the dreaded Osteo, so we were proud to help by donating blood and bone samples to further research."

Every sample, every story, every warrior like Comedy brings us closer to better options—and one day, a cure.

If your dog can help advance this research, please see our research posts below. Together, we fight for brighter futures for our cancer warriors. 🎗️
