Celebrating Pippin

Some dogs touch our hearts. Pippin touched an entire community with his joy and generosity.
After years of dedicated service, our beloved long‑time blood donor Pippin has officially retired upon turning 10 years old — and what a legacy he leaves behind. Since joining our program in 2019, Pippin made an astounding 30 blood donations, giving the gift of life to dogs across the country. With each donation capable of helping up to four patients, Pippin has potentially saved as many as 120 lives. That’s not just heroic — that’s extraordinary.
A Star in Every Way
If you’ve ever seen our blood bank marketing video, you already know Pippin was a natural in front of the camera. His charm, his confidence, and that unmistakable greyhound grin made him a fan favorite. But behind the scenes, he was even more enthusiastic.
Every donation day, Pippin practically launched himself out of the car, greeting our team with a huge smile and enough excitement to nearly tackle us in the parking lot. He walked through our doors like he owned the place — and we loved that about him.
A Dedicated Ambassador
Pippin wasn’t just a donor; he was an ambassador for our mission. He attended blood bank events, helped recruit new donors, and showed the world what a true canine hero looks like. His presence always drew people in, and his gentle, joyful spirit made them stay.
And none of this would have been possible without his incredible mom.
A Special Thank‑You to Pippin’s Mom
Pippin’s mom, Sam, has been one of our strongest supporters from day one. She not only brought him faithfully to every donation, but she also championed our mission through her work, her connections, and her time. She even hosted some of our yearly events benefiting the blood bank — helping us raise awareness, build community, and celebrate the dogs who make our lifesaving work possible.
Her dedication has meant the world to us, and we are deeply grateful for everything she has done.
A Well‑Deserved Retirement
While we will miss Pippin’s joyful energy, his parking‑lot greetings, and his superstar presence at our events, his retirement is well earned. He has given so much — to us, to veterinary hospitals nationwide, and to the countless families whose dogs are alive today because of him.
Pippin, thank you for being a hero. And to his mom — thank you for sharing him with us and for supporting our mission in so many meaningful ways.
